youth visions media club

During the fall season of 09’, Youth Visions has made another addition to its great programming structure, media.  The media department primarily focuses on exposing students to the many areas of study and careers rooted in the mass communication field. Students are learning the basics of writing, journalism, photography, cinematography, and recording engineering to name a few.  “The spark in their eyes, and sense of accomplishment they feel after hearing or seeing a finished product, knowing the time and effort they put into it is unparallel”, says Derrick Bogard,   media instructor. Media is widely used in the way we view the world around us. Music, the news, commercials, the internet, is just a few of the paradigm shaping tools of mass communication. At Youth Visions we are using these tools to positively impact the students of the Frayser Community.
