Paradise Garden
The Community Garden Project is an initiative spearheaded by Coach Lionel Hollins and UnitedHealth Care. This project is near and dear to Coach Hollins’ heart as he knows firsthand the long-lasting benefits of gardening, having tended to and survived off one during his youth.
The community garden which broke ground in July 2011 is maintained by Youth Vision with the assistance of local middle school students. Ultimately, youth learn to provide for themselves and have access to fresh produce. It is the hope of Coach Hollins that his garden will be the first of many in the Memphis area.
By receiving help from a host of volunteers and community partners, students of Youth Vision and the Frayser community receive an opportunity to lead healthier lives.
